Steel Cadence: Tanks 1945Steel Cadence: Tanks 1945

Break the brick. Hold the line. Take the field.

A top-down tank game in the spirit of the arcade tank games, rebuilt in low-poly 3D. Two armies, a campaign that opens one stage at a time, and a motor pool that grows with every clear.

A stage in play: the player's tank holds a brick line in front of the eagle.

The stage

A board you can see whole

Four things to shoot through, and one behind you that must not fall.

  • Brick

Breaks under a shell, half a tile at a time.

  • Steel

Holds. Take the way around it.

  • Water

Stops a tank, never a shell.

  • Trees

    Hide whatever moves under them.

  • The eagle

Stands behind you. If it falls, the stage is over.

The campaign

A road, one stage at a time

The map opens as you win: clear the stage you are on and the next one unlocks. A clear pays points — most on the first win of the day, least when the tank comes back in pieces.

The campaign map, one marker per stage.

The motor pool

Two armies, one line each

Spend what the stages paid on the next tank in the line, then on speed, gun, armour and reload. Every tank carries its own record: years in service, gun, weight, how many were built.

The motor pool: an M3 Stuart under the lights with its stats and its upgrade prices.

Supply

Call in what your gun cannot do

Some waves do not fall to one gun. Drop a mortar on the far corner of the field, and heavier things once the campaign asks for them. Calls are bought with points and carried into the next stage.

The supply screen: the mortar in stock, the heavier calls still locked.

Price

Free, no ads

Points come from play. Nothing worth having is kept from a player who earns them.

Where it plays

Made for one thumb

On iPhone. The stick appears under your thumb wherever it lands, and the lower half of the screen is the trigger — no buttons to hunt for while a shell is coming at you.
